Proper nutrition plays a vital role in helping individuals with disabilities maintain their health, manage medical conditions, and improve their overall quality of life. A balanced diet can help prevent or manage chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes, while also supporting energy levels, physical strength, and mental wellbeing. This empowers individuals to live more independently and improve their daily functioning.
We have extensive experience supporting
individuals with a variety of disabilities including:
- Neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g. autism spectrum disorder)
- Intellectual and cognitive disabilities (e.g. acquired brain injury and Alzheimer’s disease)
- Neurodegenerative diseases (e.g. motor neuron disease and Huntington’s disease)
- Mental health conditions (e.g. schizophrenia, bipolar, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and anxiety disorders)
- Genetic disorders (e.g. down syndrome)
- Physical disabilities (e.g. cerebral palsy, spina bifida, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy and spinal cord injury)
- Sensory impairments (e.g. hearing and vision loss)
- Speech impairments (e.g. stroke)
- Neurological disorders (e.g. Parkinson’s disease)
- Developmental disabilities (e.g. global developmental delay)
